Sue’s friends remember…….
“My first playmate in the early 1950s was Sue Snyder. We were inseparable and together, on a daily basis, developed a friendship and love of almost 50 years. I miss her terribly.”
Nancy Cascarelli
“It is her ready smile and ability to listen that I will always miss. These qualities enabled her to have a tremendous impact upon the lives of hundreds of volunteers, thousands of girls, as well as the Battle Creek community as a whole.”
Pat Brasseur
“Sue would have an inspirational idea and before you knew it, it was a reality. Her positive attitude, passionate spirit and professional drive were contagious. She is truly missed in our Council and in our lives.”
Jan Barker
"Sue was a very good friend who could keep confidences, share both good and troubled times, and could laugh at anything, including herself. She cared deeply about girls' futures and was a wonderful role model for girls and adults alike. She would be proud of what the council's doing for girls now. We really miss her."
Barb Giesen
“She cheered for so many of us
She helped so many of us.
She laughed with so many of us.
She gave hope to so many of us.
Those of us who knew her were truly lucky”
Ruth Berlien
Sue was first and foremost a great friend. In our twenties, we were co-workers, then became roommates with two other girls for a time, and remained friends till her passing. She introduced me to her mom's chili sauce on eggs (delicious!), made me laugh with her wonderful sense of humor, shared my joys and my sorrows through the years, loved my kids as she did those girls whose lives she touched in Girl Scouts, was an excellent cook as experienced through monthly potlucks with our other friends through the years. Sue was a great blessing in my life and she will remain in my heart forever.

I was a volunteer from Portage and didn't have occasion to be with Sue often but she was always so friendly and optimistic! Her passing was and is keenly felt in our council.
