Ranger Bob Way Becomes A Reality
The Girl Scouts of Glowing Embers Council is thrilled to announce that the dream to create Ranger Bob Way at Camp Merrie Woode is becoming a reality. The first week of December an all-volunteer crew staked the roadway for us.
Ranger Bob Way will replace the current
entrance which runs through the day camp and presents safety issues for girls. In addition to eliminating safety concerns, the Girl Scouts wanted this to be a memorial to Bob Kull, the legendary Camp Ranger who made Camp Merrie Woode an amazing experience for Girl Scouts for 25 years.
The completion of Ranger Bob Way will also allow the Girl Scouts to build the Grand Lodge, which is scheduled for construction next year. This will be the portal to the heart of camp allowing thousands of girls and adult volunteers to have that magical and formative experience that Bob lived daily and that Girl Scouting brings to girls’ lives.
