An alternate recognition program is offered to Older Girl/Teen Girl Scout troops. Through this option, older girl/teen troops may elect to receive an increase in troop proceeds of $.10 per package sold instead of individual girls receiving the traditional recognitions. Troops choosing this option will still receive participation patches and Gift of Caring patches if qualified.

This must be a unanimous decision by vote by the girls.
A form must be filled out and received by March 10, 2008.

Please Remember

The alternate recognition program is open to Older Girl/Teen Girl Scout troops only. This includes Junior troops made up of 6th grade girls only, Cadette troops and Senior troops.
Participation is a girl decision and must be made prior to the sale start date of 2/16/08.
Each girl's vote must be anonymous.
The choice applies to the entire troop (as a result of accounting considerations).
The troop enrollment form must be completed, signed and submitted by March 10, 2008 to participate.
It is the responsibility of the Troop Leader/Cookie Director to ensure that all of the girls clearly understand the choices and that none of the girls are pressured to vote one way or the other.
Make sure all parents understand that their daughter will not receive any Recognitions including Cookie Cash.
