Position Title: Volunteer Trainer
Position Summary: Responsible for implementing relevant, experiential training courses to equip volunteers with skills and assets that enable them to provide an inclusive, accessible, values-based program for all girls.
Appointed by: Vice President, Volunteer Services
Position Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Complete a GSUSA certified Train-the-Trainer course
- Attend Training Team meetings and serve on committees as needed
- Assume responsibility for course, resources, evaluations, appropriate use of facilities, and methods of delivery prior to each course.
- Plan and present training opportunities as requested by GSGEC staff and the Training & Development Team
- Complete the GSGEC Training Agreement and participate in an annual evaluation of training curriculum/offerings
- Assist with new curriculum development as necessary
- Support the Training & Development Team by positive participation, continuing education, active skill development, and recruitment of training team members
- Participate in trainings, council meetings and other meetings as scheduled
- Keep and submit reports as required
- Interpret and support, in a positive manner, the Council’s policies, standards, procedures, and decisions.
- Support GSGEC efforts to increase revenue through Family Partnership, Capital Campaigns, Product Sales and special events that may be held from time to time.
Position Competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities required):
- Believes in the aims and purposes of the Girl Scout organization and subscribes to the principles expressed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
- Meets requirements for membership in Girl Scouts of U.S.A. and be a registered member.
- Understand and accept GSUSA Policies and Standards, Girl Scouts of Glowing Embers Policies and Standards.
- Have the ability to delegate responsibly, motivate, and work harmoniously with others without regard to race, creed, nationality, socio-economic factors or disabilities.
- Has basic knowledge of, or is willing to learn, Girl Scout programs and is willing and able to take necessary trainings.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, and the ability to delegate responsibility.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, flexibility and a sense of humor are assets.
Time Commitment Required: Two year term, renewed annually; commitment of 5-8 hours per month, will vary by season

- Monthly Training & Development Team Meetings
- Committee meetings as necessary
