Position Title: School Organizer
Position Summary: The School Organizer is responsible for the organization, registration, and maintenance of Troops/Groups in assigned area. The School Organizer is appointed by and responsible to the Service Area Manager with approval of the Member Services Executive.

Position Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Attend Administrative Volunteer Training.
- Establish & maintain good communication with principal and staff in designated school(s).
- Provide information to parents and plan round-up(s) for your Service Area.
- Recruit potential leaders/advisors.
- Distribute & explain Volunteer Packet to potential recruits.
- Encourage leaders/advisors to find Troop/Group Committee members and sponsors
- Inform leaders/advisors of registration procedures.
- If appropriate, review all Troop/Group “On Time” registration forms for accuracy; collect registration fees from receipts and Membership Registration forms by October 1st deadline.
- Assist Troops/Groups in finding a suitable meeting place
- Attend monthly Service Team meetings to help with Service Unit planning
- Attend monthly leader/advisor meetings
- Assure that leaders/advisors receive handouts and information from the Council
- Assure that leaders/advisors, in their assigned areas, are meeting with their troops/groups on a regular basis
- Act as a contact person for leaders/advisors to give advice and help with Troop/Group problem solving throughout the year
- Communicate potential leader/advisor or Troop/Group problems to Service Team for resolution
- Help Organize and carry out/year-end award ceremonies
- Support GSGEC efforts to increase revenue through Family Partnership, Capital Campaigns, Product Sales and special events that may be held from time to time.
Position Competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities required):
- Believes in the aims and purposes of the Girl Scout organization and subscribes to the principles expressed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
- Meets requirements for membership in Girl Scouts of U.S.A. and be a registered member.
- Understand and accept GSUSA Policies and Standards, Girl Scouts of Glowing Embers Policies and Standards.
- Have the ability to delegate responsibly, motivate, and work harmoniously with others without regard to race, creed, nationality, socio-economic factors or disabilities.
- Has basic knowledge of, or is willing to learn, Girl Scout programs and is willing and able to take necessary trainings.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, and the ability to delegate responsibility.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, flexibility and a sense of humor are assets.
Time Commitment Required: One Year, may be re-appointed
