The GSGEC Public Relations (PR) department serves all Girl Scouts through promoting activities and individuals, providing printed materials, developing media relations and providing crisis intervention.

Below are just a few of the services the public relations department offers and some of the requirements needed to help communicate the Girl Scout story.
The publicity release form (which is part of the membership registration form) allows Girl Scouts of Glowing Embers to use photos of girls to educate and promote Girl Scouting.
- Publicity support is available if you are planning a great event and you want to get the word out to the community. Please call the PR department at least a month prior to the event to provide ample time to arrange media coverage.
- Girl Scout Trademarks including shapes (logo), insignia and words are owned by Girl Scouts of the United States of America and are registered with the United State Patent and Trademark Office. All of these words, marks and insignia are protected by law and GSUSA is legally obligated to protect and restrict their use in order to safeguard them. For additional information on their use, please contact the Public Relations Department at the GSGEC.
We all know that Girl Scouting is a powerfully positive experience for girls. It is important to promote and encourage Girl Scouting, so that others can understand how it helps girls develop assets and skill-sets to help them grow into productive, successful community members through Girl Scout programs and activities. It is important for the long-term health and promotion of Girl Scouts that we send a consistent positive message to all media outlets. If you are ever approached by a media outlet it is important to keep in mind what you say could impact the lives of current and future Girl Scouts.
