Mariela Rua

Mariela was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from WMU. “How did I end up here in Kalamazoo out of all places? My dad used to work for Upjohn (Pfizer now) and he used to come to Kalamazoo for business. Because of my dad’s job, we’ve had the fortune of living in countries such as Venezuela, Indonesia, and Spain – until the whole family finally settled in the U.S. The first time I heard about the Girl Scouts I was in Venezuela, and my mom was a troop leader. I sort of learned a bit about what Girl Scouts was all about back then, but since I’ve been at GSGEC I’ve learned a whole lot more!” Mariela loves to spend time with her friends and family, especially playing with her daughters Camila & Tamara. She also enjoys swimming and playing tennis, and is a HUGE soccer fan. As for a favorite Girl Scout cookie, she likes the new LEMON CHALET CREMES – yummy yummy!
